DESCRIPTION: Located in the heart of the town of El Chaltén is the operations base for work in the southern area of the province of Santa Cruz. This work base is part of a framework agreement between the Santa Cruz Environment Secretariat and the Provincial Agrarian Council (CAP). It consists of a housing module and a dome.
OBJECTIVES: This is an important logistics base to support conservation, management, and research actions in the basin. It favors logistics for the work of the HGF and for groups of collaborators who come to the area to conduct research in other areas.

Disclaimer: Please note that if your research project requires it, you must also submit the approved documentation for the research permits issued by the Provincial Agricultural Council and/or the National Parks Administration - Southern Patagonia Regional Directorate, as applicable (both are valid for 1 year). People staying and/or working at the station will be required to have personal accident insurance or an ART certificate (for CONICET staff or other state employees).
