Advisory Services

We have a technical team trained for various types of sampling and an academic team prepared to design sampling strategies, perform statistical and spatial analyses, and prepare detailed technical reports tailored to specific demands. Thus, we have the necessary preparation to participate in consultancies of different characteristics, mainly all those that seek to generate information on fauna and environments.

Record of Advisory Services Performed

Advisory services in which we have participated directly (i.e., that we have led) and those in which we collaborate with other institutions.

  • 2024-act. Baseline of the La Cautiva Ranch, Chubut. Work carried out at the owner's initiative. The purpose of this consultancy is to generate information on the estancia's bird and mammal populations, but also to generate information on the state of the estancia's environments and their evolution over time.

  • 2022-2023. Update of the Management Plan for the Meseta de Somuncurá Natural Protected Area. In collaboration with the University of Río Negro and the CCT-Patagonia Norte. Within the framework of the management plan, we worked on the characterization of the avifauna of the Somuncurá plateau, providing bibliographic, unpublished and field information.

  • 2023. Territorial prioritization of the province of Santa Cruz for the development of wind energy based on the distribution of birdlife. In collaboration with the Secretary of State of the Province of Santa Cruz. As part of this consultancy, we provided a complete report of the entire province of Santa Cruz in which we categorized the areas into different levels of sensitivity with respect to populations of threatened, endemic, and of interest birds.

  • 2023. Pre-feasibility study for the installation of wind farms. This consultancy was based on mapping the feasibility of large areas of the province of Santa Cruz in relation to potentially sensitive bird populations, generating as a final product the identification of areas with greater viability for this type of project.

  • 2018-2020. Baseline monitoring of Wind Farms in Neuquén, Chubut, and Santa Cruz. In collaboration with Scudelatti and Assoc. and to the consulting area of Aves Argentinas. These projects were for different companies. The work was to carry out seasonal reports on the presence of birds in wind farms and to perform environmental characterizations during the pre-construction, construction and operation periods of the wind farms, including species mortality analysis.

  • 2017-2018. Fauna monitoring of the Garayalde and Cerro Dragón Wind Project. Work carried out for Pan American Energy, together with the consulting area of Aves Argentinas. The objective of the work was to carry out a baseline study of the bird populations in the project implementation sectors and sites of importance for birds in an area of 50 km around the projects.

  • 2015-act. Avian risk monitoring of airports in Argentina. In collaboration with Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, the Laboratory of Ecology and Animal Behavior (IEGEBA-CONICET, FCEN-UBA) and the Bariloche Foundation. Within the framework of this consultancy, we provided technical capabilities to generate information on the presence and behavior of some bird and mammal species of interest for aviation safety.
