DESCRIPTION: The El Destino Biological Station is located in the Provida Natural Reserve of Defined Objective “El Destino” in the province of Buenos Aires. It was created in 2015 thanks to the loan from the Elsa Shaw de Pearson Foundation of the oldest existing house in the “El Destino” Reserve and the financing from Neotropical Grassland Conservancy that allowed its remodeling.
OBJECTIVES: The objective is to provide facilities for the development of research and teaching projects on topics related to the biodiversity of the forests and native grasslands of the province of Buenos Aires. The biological station has accommodation, office space and processing of biological samples. The investigations that are developed are mainly focused on ornithological studies that cover several behavioral and conservation topics, and teaching of classes on conservation biology.
